Ielts reading is not a tough task if you have a command on a wide range of vocab and expressions. To confuse the candidates synonyms and similar meaning phrases are used to, sometimes the word in the question is either replaced by a synonym or a similar meaning clause in the passage. If you have mastered the art of vocab you can easily discern the meaning and answer of the question.

Most of the questions in reading contain keywords it is easy to find the answers if you focus on the key words only, because if you read the entire passage again and again you will lose precious time. Look at the keywords in the question first then go to the passage, skim through it and find those words and try to match the information with the question.

Reading has different types of questions, ranging from true false to fill in the blanks, therefore solve each type of question using a different approach, for example for true and false questions you have to find the given statement in the passage and then compare the data whether if it is true, false or not given. Most of the times the questions come in order so you should read the paragraphs one by one to solve such questions.

To fill the summary and notes, you should focus on few paragraphs only, because the information is not scattered throughout the passage for these questions.

Always be cautious and look for synonym and similar meaning phrases and clauses, there is no direct answer to the questions, the information sometimes has a passing reference only. So, do not waste the time in vain to find the direct answers.
